For the purpose of understanding and reporting on positive organizational change in national and international nonprofit organizations, The Workshop Unlimited is designing and implementing two series of forums in various parts of the country.

The first series will involve nonprofit managers who daily confront questions concerning their organizations' effectiveness. These forums will provide a venue where nonprofit managers can share their experiences and through the experience of others, increase their leadership capacity. They will be able to build on the lessons learned during the foundation-sponsored focus groups.

The second set of forums will explore the issue of how nonprofits operate in the context of their community. The forums will involve not only managers and employees from selected nonprofits, but citizens of communities outside the usual boundaries of the organization. By exploring various aspects of the community idea, we will be better able to understand the complex relationships between organizational change and community development.
