Our book, A View From Within, conceived and written with the generous support from The Ford Foundation, tells stories through anecdotes, thought papers and case study summaries. Our goal is to deepen the readers' understanding about how we learn and adapt as individuals and organizations to new circumstances and opportunities. These stories provide us with yet another window through which to view our capacity as individuals and communities (workplace as well as society-at-large) to continually reinvigorate the common good and ideals of a just, open and civil society.
The core task we face in our work is to develop a compilation of case studies that will serve a practical function. This book will be written for practitioners and philanthropic leaders, addressing hands-on considerations in advancing new organizational systems that boost performance and workplace vitality. It is our intention that the book, during and after its creation, provide an opportunity for interaction with others involved in organizational change.
Our goal in writing A View From Within is to deepen the readers' understanding of how we learn and adapt as individuals and organizations to new circumstances and opportunities. The anecdotal information contained in the book concerns individuals in nonprofit organizations who are involved in constructive change for the workplace as well as the society-at-large. |
